The racking (rotating) elbow fits through a and 2 inch tri-clamp bulkhead fitting. It may be installed either before the tank is filled with a valve clamped to the elbow or after the tank has been drained down to the level of the racking port - the elbow and valve are then installed and the remaining wine racked off the lees or sediment. The latter approach means only one elbow is required to rack several tanks. The handle for turning the elbow is mounted parallel to the tube to provide an index of the tube position in the tank. and
This fitting terminates in a 1.5" Tri-Clamp Flange, Engineered to reduce turbulence during racking.
RE2 includes a 1.5 in. racking elbow, 2 in. tri-clamp, and 2 in. tri-clamp gasket (fits 2 in. Racking Port Kit).
